Kids Zone General Info
We are excited that you are checking out Kids Zone at New England Chapel!
The moment you walk into Kids Zone, we want you and your children to feel welcomed, safe, and excited. We have created three distinct environments to meet the needs of children from birth through 5th grade.
Little Kids Zone - infant to young toddlers
Junior Kids Zone - older toddlers through kindergarten
Big Kids Zone - grades one through five
We offer Kids Zone during both of our Sunday morning services.
Kids Zone Mission
In alignment with the mission of NEC, in Kids Zone we strive: to build an authentic community and engaging environment where children can experience, embrace, and express the love of God in Christ Jesus.
We work toward this mission by:
- creating a safe and fun environment
- teaching key Biblical truths in child-targeted, relevant, and creative ways
- providing opportunities for kids to respond to God’s love through worship and service to others
- partnering with families by sharing information and eliciting feedback
- supporting volunteers through training, encouragement, and team accountability
Security Policies
Because safety is so important to us in Kids Zone, we follow strict security policies. Children in Little and Junior Kids Zone are given a numbered name tag which has a corresponding parent tag. This tag must be returned when you pick up your child. (These numbers are also used to alert you during the service should your child need you.) In Big Kids Zone, the children are also identified by name tags. Parents must have a Parent Pass in order to enter the Big Kids Zone area. Other measures to ensure your child’s safety include:
- following volunteer:child ratios as posted outside each Little and Junior Kids Zone classroom to ensure that your child gets the attention he or she needs
- always having at least two volunteers with each child at all times
- making every effort to keep the Kids Zone environment child-friendly, safe, and secure
- screening and interviewing the volunteers who care for your children
Volunteers
Kids Zone could not happen each week without the commitment of our many volunteers. We choose only those people who love working with kids and who are excited about making a difference in their lives. We invest in our volunteers through relationships among the teams, training, and encouragement. Because God continues to bless Kids Zone with growth, we are always welcoming new members to our team.
