Restoration: serve, equip & connect

Jesus says he will make all things new again (Rev. 21:5), and he invites us into his work of Restoration.  NEC reaches out to those in need within our walls, in our community, and across the world.  Won’t you join us?  We have formed service teams targeting special projects and also partner with established local and regional organizations for wider impact.

Regional Outreach

Straight Ahead Ministries

This organization works with juvenile offenders to help them know Christ’s transforming love.  Youth are mentored closely every step of their journey, from lock-up, to a monitored home environment and finally to independence as they become self-sufficient, productive citizens. NEC partners with Straight Ahead in their youth Bible studies and holiday outreach.

Walking in Light Ministries at Great Brook Valley (Worcester)

This faith-based mission partners with a large cross-section of Bible-centered churches in New England to minister to hundreds of families in this low-income housing project, one of the largest in Massachusetts.   NEC assembles Thanksgiving baskets for families every year, works with WIL in its women’s and men’s Bible studies, and in its summer activities as well.

Host  families needed...

Please join us as we partner with Walking in Light to provide the inner city teens from Great Brook Valley in Worcester with an amazing opportunity to participate in a 3 day Summer Bible Experience Day Camp in Uxbridge. NEC is hoping for ten host families to sponsor two teens each. Without our support, these teens will not be able to attend the bible experience.

If you are looking for an opportunity to teach your own children perspective on how rich their lives are with love and support – look no further! The bond you form by opening up your hearts and your homes to these kids is amazing.

WHO: Teens from Great Brook Valley Walking in Light Ministries

WHAT: Summer Bible Experience Day Camp

WHEN: Monday, July 29 (pm) through Thursday, August 1st (am)

WHERE: Fairwoods Campground in Uxbridge WHY: To provide these teens with an opportunity to experience God at work in and around them

Here’s how the program works:

Teens will be bussed from Worcester on Monday, July 29th to the camp. Host families pick up their teen guests between 3 and 5PM. We ask that families host at least two teens, so that they can have the company of friends. The teens stay with the host families for a total of three nights (drop off at Fairwoods between 8 and 10 am, pick up between 3 and 5pm). On Thursday (the last day) goodbyes will be said at the morning drop-off.

During the time the teens are with the host families, they are incorporated into the normal family’s routine. Some families may choose to do something special with the teens such as swimming, a movie or another activity. This is entirely up to the host family to choose to do a special activity with their teens.

There are a number of NEC families who have participated because of the impact it has had on their families and these kids. You will be filled with love by the end of the four days and gain some perspective of your own on what really matters!

We need your help to fill the ten remaining family sponsorships! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Please sign up by emailing Nancy McDermott at or calling 508- 873-5636.
